BYVE AI

FAQ

What is BYVE AI?

BYVE AI turns a one-line description into a small HTML app, runs it inside BYVE, and lets you refine it by chatting. Generated apps are stored only on this device and run in isolated spaces.

Getting started

When you open the app you land on the home screen. Type what you want to build in the input field in the middle and tap Create below it. If you are unsure what to build, tap an example above the input to fill in a sentence, or pick a similar example from the categories at the bottom. Your first use grants two free tokens, and your remaining tokens are shown at the top.

How to create an app

1) Describe the app in the home input field. 2) Tap Create. 3) Progress appears in the chat step by step. 4) One token is charged right before generation starts. 5) When generation finishes the result appears in the chat and the app opens immediately. Created apps are saved to your library so you can reopen them later.

Can I pick extra features before building?

When you create a new app, BYVE first suggests extra features you might want. Pick only the ones you need and those features are built to actually work. If the suggestions are slow or you do not want them, choose Just build it to continue right away.

How to write a good request

Describe the screens, what each control should do, and which values to remember. For example, put all three into one sentence: record glasses of water with a + button, show how many are left to a goal of 8 at the top, and keep the record after closing the app. Short or vague requests like make a good app usually produce something different from what you wanted.

How to split a request

When an app has many features, building the core first is more reliable. For example, create recording and a list first, add a statistics screen second, and add reminders third. Because you can keep editing an existing app in the chat, there is no need to finish everything at once.

What you can do in the chat

In the chat you can run the result again, continue with Edit existing app, or try the same request fresh with Create again. If the result is not what you wanted, use Create again; if you only want to change part of it, use Edit existing app. Tap Send to another AI to continue the same request in a different tool.

How to use the app screen

When an app runs, a top bar sits above the app screen. Tap Edit in the top bar to write a change request, and tap the menu on the right for Export app, Import app and Fullscreen. Use Fullscreen when you want the app to fill the screen.

How to edit an app

Tap Edit on the app screen, or type the change in the chat. Concrete instructions such as move the button to the bottom and add a difficulty selector are applied in one step. A confirmation appears right before sending, one token is charged, and then the edit starts. The edit updates the same app. The immediately previous state can be restored from a recovery backup, and backups are kept up to five per app and thirty in total.

When editing is free

If BYVE detects a runtime error and shows the repair banner, no token is charged. If the app was created or edited with a token within the last 24 hours, you can repair it once per day for free. Tap Repair in the banner to start the free repair; if the daily limit is already used, the app guides you to a normal edit.

Buttons do not respond or the screen is stuck

If a generated app's script has an error, the whole script stops running and every button becomes unresponsive. BYVE detects this and shows a Some parts of this app are not working banner offering a free repair. Tap Repair in the banner; if no banner appears and the app still does not respond, try Create again in the chat.

When an app does not come out well

Requests that are too large or pack too many features into one screen can produce inaccurate results. Build a few core features first and add more by editing. Repeating the identical request often repeats the same problem, so rephrase it slightly.

Can a detailed app be cut off?

There is a limit to how much output the AI can produce at once. Very large apps can be truncated, in which case BYVE asks again for a complete result that keeps every feature and only compresses whitespace and duplicate code. If it is still truncated, split the request into parts.

How to reopen an app

Created apps are saved in your library. From the home screen choose Open library and backup to see your apps and chats, then tap an item to run it. Recently created apps can also be opened directly from the recent list on the home screen.

How to back up an app

Export your app before deleting it or switching devices. Open the app menu, choose Export app, then pick Save to BYVE folder to write a .byve file into Download/BYVE. Choose Save to Drive or files if you want a different location. When saving finishes the file name and location are shown. On iPhone and iPad, Export app opens the Files save window, where you choose a location such as On My iPhone or iCloud Drive for the .byve file.

How to restore a backup

Open the app menu and choose Import app, then pick the .byve file you saved. Even after deleting and reinstalling, the same app and its stored values can be restored as long as you have the .byve file. You are asked before the current app is replaced, so confirm before continuing.

What happens when you delete an app

Deleting an app from the library or chat removes the saved app and the values it stored. To protect against accidental deletion it moves to the trash first and can be restored for seven days. After seven days it is permanently deleted.

How to restore from the trash

In Open library and backup, select the trash to see deleted threads. Restore puts an item back where it was, while Delete permanently removes it immediately and cannot be undone. Each item shows how many days remain before permanent deletion.

How to share an app

Share on the app screen prepares the current app and its request so you can continue in another AI tool. To keep a file or hand it to someone else, use Export app in the menu to write a .byve file into Download/BYVE. Whoever receives it can open it with Import app. On iPhone and iPad, Export app saves the file to the location you choose in the Files app, and you can share the file right after saving.

What is included when I share an app?

An exported .byve file can contain the app code plus the values the app stored, its history and any attached files. Check what is included before sharing. A file protected with a password is encrypted, but anyone with the password can open everything inside it.

What does Send to another AI include?

It prepares the current app code, the app name, your previous requests and any added requirements. Values stored separately while the app was running are not collected, but personal information or secrets written directly in the code are not removed automatically. Review the content before handing it to another tool.

What does the Sponsor · Ad mark mean?

BYVE may show a Sponsor · Ad mark that introduces a partner. The sponsor's name can appear below the generation message while an app is being created or edited, and at the bottom of the chat screen. When you copy the prompt to send it to another AI, BYVE may ask whether you want to visit the sponsor's site, and it opens only if you choose yes. The copied prompt is not sent to the sponsor. On iPhone and iPad, Send to another AI opens the share sheet directly without a copy step, so this question does not appear.

Can I keep the original and build another version?

Save as another name on the app screen copies the current app and its stored values into a separate app. Editing the copy lets you work independently of the original, which is useful when you want to try a new version without changing the original.

What you can do on My Page

On My Page you can check your remaining tokens, earn a token with Watch ad, open the library and backup, and change notification and ad privacy settings. The 24-hour ad rewards section shows how many ad tokens remain today. Recent token activity shows the latest three entries. Tap View all to browse retained records using all dates, daily, weekly, monthly or a custom date range, and filter by received or used tokens. In the all-dates view, scrolling down loads older entries. If loading fails, check your internet connection and tap Retry. If it keeps failing, use Contact us on the activity screen.

How to earn tokens with ads

On My Page tap Watch ad and watch the ad to the end to receive the token. Closing it early does not grant the token, and the balance updates automatically once the view is verified. An ad blocker or an unstable connection can prevent an ad from loading; follow the on-screen guidance and try again shortly.

How do tokens work?

One token is charged right before each app generation or edit. If the request fails it is refunded based on the server record, and your remaining tokens are shown on My Page. When you are short on tokens, creation or editing does not start and a notice is shown. Detailed token activity is retained for 365 days before scheduled deletion; details updated later by a refund or revocation are also retained for 365 days from that update. Unsettled information is preserved until settlement is complete. Minimal identifiers to prevent duplicate grants are kept separately for the long term; see the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page for their scope. Deleting activity is different from expiring a balance, so the displayed entries may not add up to your current balance.

Free tokens and ad tokens

You receive two free tokens on first use. After that you can earn tokens by watching a rewarded ad to the end, up to a limit per 24 hours that is counted per device. Deleting detailed token activity after its 365-day retention period does not by itself expire unused tokens. The balance is tied to this installation, so on Android deleting and reinstalling the app resets it. On iPhone and iPad the installation identifier stays in the Keychain, so reinstalling on the same device keeps your balance, but erasing the device or switching to another device does not. We sometimes gift tokens through events or announcements, and tokens you receive appear in your token history.

When tokens are refunded

Tokens are refunded when the generation server does not respond, when a saved result cannot be recovered, or when a request cannot be generated under safety policy. The chat shows a refund notice, and you can retry as a new request while keeping the previous result. A request whose delivery to your device was never confirmed may not be refunded automatically, so contact us if a token was charged but no result appeared.

Where are my generated apps stored?

Chats, generated apps, run history and each generated app's localStorage are stored only on this device by default. BYVE does not keep generated apps; only a recovery copy of completed results for up to 24 hours and generation request records for the period stated in the Privacy Policy. Created apps stay on this device and run in isolated spaces. On iPhone and iPad they may also be included in iCloud or computer backups you have turned on, which follow Apple's policies and your settings.

Does it work offline?

An app that has already been created runs on your device and works offline. Creating or editing an app and earning tokens through ads require an internet connection. Features that need an outside lookup, such as weather or exchange rates, require an internet connection. If the connection drops, generation stops; on retry BYVE first checks whether an accepted request already has a result. Video and music players also need an internet connection to play.

What generated apps cannot do

Generated apps run only inside the execution boundary BYVE sets. They cannot secretly access information such as device files, contacts or the camera, and can use only the features you allow in a confirmation dialog. They cannot bypass BYVE's security locks or steer you to external payments, blocked external requests are refused, and generated apps do not interfere with each other.

Can my apps use device features like the flashlight or location?

Yes. They can use only the features BYVE allows (such as the flashlight, step count, location, camera, opening and saving files, translation, and composing texts and emails), and when needed they work only after you allow them in a dialog that explains what they do. Texts and emails only open the compose screen; nothing is sent until you tap send yourself.

Can I add video or music to my apps?

Share a YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify or SoundCloud link and your app can play it in the official player. Playback needs an internet connection, only one player plays at a time, and it stops when you close the app.

Should I enter personal information?

Do not enter personal information, passwords, API keys or national ID numbers, because generation and edit requests are processed by external AI providers. Values stored inside an app stay on the device, but sensitive values should not be stored at all. Putting a real password directly into a generated app is not recommended.

Which AI providers are used?

External AI services may change with operational needs. The current providers and data processing conditions are listed per provider in the cross-border processing sections of the Privacy Policy, and requests automatically move to the next provider in order during outages or quota limits; the first provider may differ depending on the country you connect from. Whichever provider is used, request content is handled within the same scope.

Why does BYVE check the genuine app and device?

BYVE uses Google Play Integrity together with a hashed device identifier to reduce repeated free-token grants, tampered APKs and automated abuse. These checks are used only for token grants and request processing, never for the content of generated apps. If a check fails, generation does not start and a notice is shown. If you see "Available only on a genuine app and device", it usually means the check could not finish for a moment; it does not mean something is wrong with your device. Update BYVE to the latest version on Google Play, update the Play Store and Google Play services, and restart your phone. If it still appears, let us know through My Page > Support > Contact us and we will check quickly. On iPhone and iPad, Apple App Attest is used instead of Google Play Integrity and the device identifier. If you see the same message there, update BYVE AI to the latest version in the App Store and restart your device; if it still appears, let us know through Contact us.

What cannot be created

For safety and app-store policy reasons, apps that are illegal, harmful, infringe others' rights, deceive users, push payments or collect personal information cannot be created. In these cases nothing is generated and no token is charged, and the chat shows the reason for refusal.

Notifications and ad settings

In My Page > Notifications you can turn two kinds on or off separately: "Info & update notifications" for key features and service news, and "Offers & promotions" for events and offers. Promotional notifications at night (21:00 to 08:00) are sent only if you agree separately. Even with notifications off, you can always see announcements and gift news in the inbox at the top. In ad privacy settings you can choose again whether to allow personalized ads, and this setting does not affect app creation. On iPhone and iPad you can change the same notification settings in My Page > Notifications; to receive notifications, you also need to allow notifications for BYVE AI in the iOS Settings app. On iPhone and iPad, BYVE asks once on first launch whether to allow app tracking, and you can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Every feature, including ad rewards, works even if you do not allow it.

How to clear all data

Follow the data deletion guide in My Page to delete all apps and chat history in this device's library. This cannot be undone, so export important apps as .byve files first. To request deletion of server records, use My Page > Support > Contact us; your installation ID is included and we will help delete them after checking. See the Data Deletion page and the Privacy Policy for the automatic deletion scope and retention periods of server information.

Supported languages and device requirements

BYVE AI provides its interface in Korean and 79 other languages, and generated apps follow the language of your request. It runs on Android 8.0 and later, and on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 and later. Values stored by an app carry over to a new device only when you move them with a .byve file, which also works between Android and iPhone or iPad.

Can I use BYVE on iPhone or iPad?

Yes. Install BYVE AI from the App Store to create and edit apps on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, the same way as on Android. Free tokens, earning tokens with ads and ad privacy settings work the same. On first launch, after ad consent where it is required, BYVE asks once whether to allow app tracking. Every feature, including ad rewards, works even if you do not allow it. When you contact us, check your iOS version in Settings > General > About and include it. See the Data Deletion page for how to erase app data on your device.

Updates and version checks

BYVE updates through Google Play when a new version is released. Older versions may not support the newest features, so please update when prompted. Updating keeps the apps and chats already stored on your device. Older versions may not work reliably, so versions that are no longer supported show an update notice and can be used again after updating. On iPhone and iPad, BYVE updates through the App Store.

How to request data deletion

You can delete data on your device directly in My Page. BYVE AI has no accounts, so stored records cannot be found from an email address alone, but if you send a request through My Page > Support > Contact us, your installation ID is included and we will check and help delete that installation's server records. Even without a request, server records are deleted automatically after their retention periods. See the Data Deletion page for details.

How do I contact BYVE?

Using My Page > Support > Contact us in the app fills in your installation ID automatically so we can check faster. You can also email mark@bymysidelabs.com directly. If something goes wrong, tell us what app you were trying to make, which screen you got stuck on and what the message said, and we can check much faster. To request deletion of server records, include that in your inquiry.
